Terms of use
This version is a translation provided for your convenience. Only the German version is legally binding.
Who we are and what these terms cover
These terms of use apply to everything you use at Jinjja: the game Jinjja World (in the browser at game.jinjja.world, as an app and via Steam), the website jinjja.world, the portal at jinjja.de and jinjja.club, and your Jinjja account, which you use to log in at all of these places. If you get the game through Steam or another distributor, that provider’s terms apply in addition. The provider is Severin Lüdcke, Jinjja World, Goethestraße 42, 73630 Remshalden, Germany. You can reach us at hello@jinjja.world; more about us is in the imprint.
By registering or logging in for the first time, you agree to these terms. How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.
Your account
You need a Jinjja account to play Jinjja World and to use the personal features of the portal (ratings, watchlists, lists). The account is free. You can create it with an email address and password, or log in with your Google account or, in the Steam edition, with Steam (see Signing in with Google and Signing in with Steam in the privacy policy). Google and Steam have their own terms, which apply in addition. The following applies:
- You are at least 12 years old. If you are not yet 18, you need the consent of your parents or guardians.
- Your details are correct, and the email address belongs to you.
- An account belongs to one person. Do not share your password and protect your account; tell us right away if you notice misuse. You are responsible for everything that happens through your account, unless you are not at fault for the misuse.
- Creating a new account to get around a ban is not allowed.
- The name others see (display name, your character’s name) does not infringe anyone’s rights, does not insult anyone and does not mislead anyone about who you are.
How to use Jinjja
Jinjja is for learning and playing, and a lot of it happens together with other people: chat, voice chat, friendships, shared games, swapping and trading. To keep it good for everyone, these rules apply. You may not:
- insult, threaten or harass others, or demean them because of their origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability or the like;
- post or link to unlawful, youth-endangering, pornographic or violence-glorifying content;
- publish other people’s personal data without their consent, or record other people’s conversations and pass them on;
- send advertising, spam, chain letters or scams;
- pretend to be someone else, including the Jinjja team;
- cheat or exploit bugs, for example with bots, automation, modified programs or manipulated requests, or obtain or move values, items and saved progress by unfair means;
- disrupt operations, bypass safeguards or exploit security holes — please report holes to us instead;
- scrape or copy content or data from the game and the portal on a large scale by automated means.
We grant you the simple, non-transferable right to use Jinjja privately and non-commercially for as long as you comply with these terms. All rights in the game and in its texts, images, characters, sounds and programs belong to us or our licensors; beyond that, you may use them only as far as the law allows (for example for quotations).
Our server automatically checks names that others see and chat messages for swear words, hate terms and official-sounding words (such as “Admin”): a name containing such a word is rejected, and in chat, asterisks replace the word. The word lists are based on the “List of Dirty, Naughty, Obscene, and Otherwise Bad Words” (© 2012–2020 Shutterstock, Inc., CC BY 4.0); more in the privacy policy.
Your content
What you post at Jinjja — such as chat messages, names, ratings, lists or the furnishing of your house — stays yours. So that we can display it, you grant us the simple, worldwide right to store it, transmit it and show it to those you intended it for (for example other players in the same room, or all visitors in the case of public lists) for as long as it is on Jinjja. You confirm that you are entitled to do so and that you infringe nobody’s rights. You are responsible for your content; we do not review it in advance.
In-game currency and items
The currency (won), items, characters, houses and progress in Jinjja World are virtual. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for real money or paid out, and trading them outside the game (for example selling accounts) is not allowed. You cannot buy won from us. What we do sell for real money is described in the next section.
Purchases with real money (Jinjja tokens)
In the Steam edition of Jinjja World you can buy Jinjja tokens with real money; in the browser and in the apps the checkout is closed. There are three kinds:
- Jinjja+ token: redeemed for 28 days of Jinjja+ with the benefits the game lists under “Me › Jinjja+”. Jinjja+ is not a subscription and does not renew by itself; each further token you redeem extends it by 28 days.
- Outfit token: redeemed for one outfit from the department store.
- Name voucher token: redeemed for a name change for your character.
Price and payment. The game shows you what a token costs at the checkout before you buy; you can buy at most five at a time. You pay through your Steam account: Steam shows you its purchase dialog with the final amount in your currency, and Valve processes the payment; Steam’s terms apply in addition. The purchase is concluded when you approve it in Steam’s purchase dialog and Steam confirms the payment; the tokens are then in your backpack straight away. With your first purchase, your Steam account stays firmly linked to your Jinjja account; the link can no longer be removed after that. If you are not yet 18, you only buy with the consent of your parents or guardians.
What you can do with tokens. A token does not expire as long as you have not redeemed it; once redeemed, it is bound to your account. You can pass an unredeemed token on to other players in the game (trading, auction house), at the earliest 72 hours after the purchase. We do not pay tokens out or take them back for money; selling them outside the game is not allowed. Purchased tokens and redeemed Jinjja+ time are excluded from resets of game progress. If you delete your account, unredeemed tokens and any running Jinjja+ time expire.
Refunds and chargebacks. If Steam refunds a purchase or your bank reverses a payment, we take back the tokens from that purchase that are still in your account and the Jinjja+ time redeemed from them. In the case of a chargeback or fraud, we may also block further purchases and passing on tokens for your account. Anyone who received a token from another player in the game keeps it.
Withdrawal. As a consumer you generally have a right of withdrawal (information below). Because you receive the tokens immediately, the checkout asks you before the purchase for your express consent to immediate delivery and for your confirmation that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal; without this consent we do not sell. We do not offer voluntary refunds beyond that. Your statutory rights if a token does not work as described remain unaffected.
Information on the right of withdrawal
Right of withdrawal. You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day the contract is concluded. To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Severin Lüdcke, Jinjja World, Goethestraße 42, 73630 Remshalden, Germany, email hello@jinjja.world) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (for example a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal. If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you without undue delay and in any event not later than fourteen days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
Expiry of the right of withdrawal. The right of withdrawal expires for a contract for the supply of digital content not supplied on a tangible medium if we have begun performing the contract after you have expressly consented to us beginning performance before the end of the withdrawal period, you have confirmed your knowledge that your consent causes your right of withdrawal to expire when performance begins, and we have provided you with a confirmation of the contract on a durable medium.

The portal
The portal at jinjja.de and jinjja.club provides information about Korean series, films and people. The information comes from publicly available sources. We take care, but give no guarantee that it is correct, complete or up to date — including where something can currently be streamed. Titles, names, logos and images belong to their respective owners. For information about people, see the privacy policy.
Availability and changes to the service
Jinjja World is in open beta. We work for stable operation but cannot promise constant availability: maintenance, outages and further development may temporarily limit the service. Features, content, values and saved progress may change or be reset; we back up saved progress regularly but do not guarantee that nothing is lost. We may change, add or discontinue features as far as that is reasonable for you; if we discontinue the service entirely, we will announce it beforehand.
If someone breaks the rules
If someone breaks these terms, we may respond appropriately: remove content, restrict a feature (for example chat), suspend or delete an account temporarily or permanently. In doing so we take into account how serious the breach is, whether it is repeated and whether it was intentional, and we usually tell you what we did and why. If you disagree, write to us; we will look at it again. Anyone who seriously endangers others or breaks the law can be suspended without warning, and we may report crimes to the authorities.
Report other people’s breaches to us at hello@jinjja.world.
Liability
We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act, and where we have given a guarantee or fraudulently concealed a defect. In cases of slight negligence we are liable only if we breach an essential contractual duty — a duty whose fulfilment makes proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on which you can regularly rely — and then only for the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. Otherwise liability for slight negligence is excluded. This also applies to our employees and agents. Other users are themselves responsible for their content.
Ending your use
You can leave Jinjja and delete your account at any time: in the game and on jinjja.world under “Delete account”, in the portal under “Account”, or by writing to us. The account and the data belonging to it are then deleted (see the privacy policy). We may end the relationship with two weeks’ notice; for good cause, especially in the case of serious or repeated breaches, also with immediate effect.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when the service changes or the law requires it. Changes that do not put you at a disadvantage we make without your consent. For material changes, we tell you at least four weeks beforehand (by email to the address of your account or when you log in) and ask for your consent. If you do not agree, you can no longer use Jinjja after the period ends; you can delete your account at any time.
Governing law and final provisions
German law applies. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live remain unaffected. If a provision of these terms is invalid, the rest remains valid. The German version is binding; translations are for your information.
